Who we are
Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Cricket Club (OIGCC) is a welcoming, inclusive, and family-oriented club with a proud history of premiership success. Based at the scenic Chelsworth Park in Melbourne, we currently field three senior sides, with our 1st XI competing in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association (DVCA) Mash Shield.
In 2025, we are excited to be expanding our cricket community by launching a Junior mixed program. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of cricketers in a fun, inclusive, and development-focused environment.
Our Story
Founded in 1989, OIGCC began with a single team in 5th grade. By the 1991/92 season, we expanded to two sides and steadily grew our presence in the Heidelberg District Cricket Association (HDCA), earning a reputation as one of the most spirited and exciting clubs in the competition.
In 2002/03, OIGCC merged with Loyal Sylvan Cricket Club. The following season, we won the 2nd grade premiership and were promoted to 1st grade, continuing a strong tradition of on-field success. We proudly won the final HDCA premiership before the association disbanded.
From 2012/13, we joined the North Metro Cricket Association (NMCA) and later transitioned into the DVCA, where we continue to grow and compete.
In 2025, we are proud to be building and investing in our Junior mixed side, marking a new chapter in our club’s journey as we support the development of young cricketers and expand our community involvement. We endorse the Victorian Cricket integrity policies and are committed to the best practices in child safety and member protection.
We’re a Community Club
OIGCC maintains close ties with Ivanhoe Grammar School, the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians’ Association (OIGA), and other affiliated sporting bodies. Our teams represent a vibrant mix of Ivanhoe Grammar alumni, former Loyal Sylvan players, and new faces from the local community.
We also invest in the future of cricket through our junior development programs and Milo Cricket clinics, encouraging the next generation of players to fall in love with the game.
